The QC testing extension allows production work orders to be set up to have tests that must be completed on a step before the step can be completed. A user of the system needs to have specific rights to allow completion of tests. It is the basis of a quality assurance system.
Overview
- Requires a license. This feature is optional in the Manu Online Enterprise Edition. Contact our support if it is not available on your account.
- Tests are set up as part of the "Manufacturing Template" of an item, on the item card.
- Tests are associated with a step of the work order's route
- There are two types of test: Descriptive and Range. A descriptive test requires the user to match the text for instance Colour where the answer is "Yellow". A Range tests is for a value between two numbers for instance pH must be between 7 and 7.5
- A test can be specified as "Optional". This typically for when a user only needs to mark discrepancies.
- When a work orders is created for an item that needs testing, there is a new tab on the work order and on the work cell screen. Changes to tests only apply to new work orders for an item.
- A test result can be "Pass", "Fail" or "Pass out of specification". The latter is for the user to mark that the test has failed but the work order is still allowed to progress.
- There is an option for a work order to be completed regardless of test failures. This is used where no rework can be carried out and allows the work order to be finished, and the goods normally moved to another location.
- Test results can be reported with an Excel report.
