Changing a product's manufacture template is the process for updating a product's design (nomally the Product structure a.k.a. Bill of Materials).
When this is done, it is often a requirement to update the planning for all open sales orders for this product.
- Take a report to find out all of the sales orders that contain this product, for instance sales order analysis
- Cancel the activation of all these sales orders, i.e. press the new version button on the sales order and do not activate them (yet).
- Change product quantities to zero on sales order lines (old manufacturing requirements needs will dissappear)
- If you have not changed the product's manufacture template yet, change it now in the Item card by activating the new version on the Manufacturing - Versions sub tab.
- Return to sales lines, enter the correct quantities and save the changes
- Activate the orders again (now all manufacture need calculations will be based on the new manufacturing template)
