The layout and content of the pages of selectors (called the Portal) can be edited to suit your business purposes. (Note that the layout of pages such as sales orders and invoices (forms) can not be changed, this applies only to the menus and selectors.)
Licensing
There are three licenses relevant to this:
- Portal edit layout - This allows users to edit the layout of existing pages for the purposes of configuring the system. This is in the latest Mini Enterprise Edition and above.
- Portal create elements - This allows users that have rights to add menu elements for the purposes of extending the system. This optional for Enterprise licenses.
- Portal profiles - This Enterprise extension allows profiles to be set up for "teams" instead of just individual users.
This document describes only "Portal edit layout".
User rights
The Manu Online Portal allows editing the appearance of the menus if the user has rights to those functions. You can check the right of use under Administration – Users. At the bottom of the screen are the settings for the portal. The user needs the "Edit Screen Layout" right. (Edit Portal Menus and Add code elements applies to the Portal create elements)
Choosing a version to to edit
If the Portal profiles extension is licensed then choose which version of the page is being edited. It be your own, the company's default or other user or team's. If Portal profiles are not in use, it is possible only to edit your own.
Modifying the appearance of a portal selector page

Under Tabs, you define the tabs on the top edge, and under the buttons you can find other functions available for that box, e.g. reports.

| A | Default to Ascending | The column is the default sort at grid load, with Ascending. Only one column can be selected. |
| D | Default to Descending | The column is the default sort at grid load, with Descending. Only one column can be selected. |
| I | Initial load | The field is included in the initial load of the grid. The field data can be retrieved if needed by clicking the "Eye" button above the grid. This feature can be used to improve performance of the grid in the case that certain fields are complicated to calculate and there is a lot of data. |
| A | Show in grid | Include this column in the grid. If the field is needed to filter but not in the grid the field needs to be on the right side here but click this red to not include it in the results grid. |
| S | Sortable | User can click the column header to sort the data. |
| F | Filterable | Include in the selection of filters at the top of the grid. Note that if the grid has a lot of filter fields then the filter list is collapsed to one row if not in use. The user can expand it. |
| X | Remove | Removes from the grid. Can be added again from the left column. |
From time to time, Manu Online will add fields to widgets or make small improvements. These changes will not apply to any customised versions. Changes only apply to the default. To update to the latest versions. reset the page and then make the changes again. Take a screenshot first to record your design.
Side bars
Side bars show additional data related to a specific record when the user hovers over the record. More data can presented on the screen without needing a wider grid.
Ensure that Open Sidebar by default is selected. On the Sidebar tab, include the columns that should be displayed. Drag and drop the fields to set the order in which they are displayed.
Tabs
Select the tabs to be shown. Data will be filtered by the tabs. If not tabs are selected the system will show all by default
Buttons
Adjust the buttons to be displayed. It is unlikely that these would need to be adjusted as the system is designed with user rights to set access to the buttons.
Cancelling, resetting and saving
At the bottom of the screen it is possible to Save your changes, or cancel the pending changes. Reset will revert previous saved changes to the system default. Note that your changes will be permanently lost. Resetting all pages will clear customisation from all other pages as well as the current one.
