Manu Online Synchronizer is an app that allows information to be synced between Manu Online and Shopify.
The app is simple to install and requires minimal setup if you have a working Manu Online account.
Features
- Shopify orders, together with the customer data, is imported to Manu Online as sales orders. Confirm and ship the orders in the standard way from your own warehouse. Manu Online will update Shopify with shipment details so that Shopify can confirm to the customer.
- Support for external fulfillment providers. If you use an external 3PL, shipments from the external warehouse will be recorded in Manu Online as Direct Sales so that Manu Online is aware of the inventory situation at that warehouse.
- Supports multiple warehouses
- Supports both methods for one Shopify site
Normally, the system will be set up that payment information is sent directly to your accounts system. The configuration in Manu Online will therefore be set to not generate invoices for Shopify orders.
Together with Manu Online's tools for planning and managing procurement and production, it is possible to set up fully automated business processes for the whole "backend" of your product sales.
Initial Installation
- Manu Online staff need to enable the Shopify receiver on your Manu Account. Once installed, it will be available for setup from Admin -> Integrations –> Public Apps

Install the app from the Shopify store – you can find it under Manu Online Synchronizer. When installing you will need to authenticate to your Manu Online account.

Once installed, go to Manu Online -> Admin -> Integrations –> Public Apps and choose Shopify. Choose your store, integration types and payment method (Generally you would create a specific payment method for this in system settings -> payment methods) from the dropdown, and click the appropriate checkboxes. Then add a mapping from the Shopify store to your desired Manu Online stock location.

If you have chosen multiple integrations for multiple locations, then there will appear radio buttons to select the integration that mapping will use:
- After this, map your Shopify tax codes to the codes you are using in Manu online – this means that the bookkeeping system connected to Manu Online will get the correct information.
Product Setup
- To add a product, first add the product in Manu Online, then add it to Shopify, ensuring that the Manu Online ItemID is set as the Shopify Product SKU. (you can do this in the reverse, but the SKU and ItemID must match). ALL items MUST be added to BOTH Manu Online and Shopify.Shopify product MUST have SKU the same as the Item ID.
Shopify shipping setup
- First, ensure your shipping is setup in Shopify.
- On install an item called ShopifyDelivery will be created, and this item will be used for all Shopify shipping costs. It has a variable price, and taxes will be set from the Shopify order tax codes.
- After this, you should be all setup to go – any orders in Shopify should be synced to Manu, and dispatches (if selected) will be sent to Shopify fulfilments.
Shopify 3PL Integration Setup
Manu Online also provides an integration to allow you to use a 3PL and insert fulfilled Shopify orders into Manu Online via Direct Sales. This can be used both as an inventory tracking with no prices attached, or have the prices inserted also.
- PLEASE NOTE - Customers are not imported with this integration.
Requirements
The 3pl Shopify integration requires the Direct Sales and API Fulfillment (<1000 transactions) modules to be enabled in Manu Online.
Setup
Setup is similar to the sore integration setup above - the differences are listed below.
Please choose the 3PL Integration from the Integrations dropdown
Setup the Direct Sales register as shown in the Direct Sales documentation Map your Register in the Mappings -> Register so the integration knows which register to use. If you have more than one Shopify location, please ensure each location has its own register, otherwise unmapped locations sales will not be imported into Manu Online.
Click the Checkbox "Create direct sales from Shopify Fulfilments" and if desired "Include Prices"
It should now be setup - Each time a sales is fulfilled in Shopify, a direct sale will be made in Manu Online.
Notes:
- If Using the Xero Connection, please do NOT use the Export Direct Sales button - This will cause issues with your totals in Xero.
Currency setup
Your store base currency must be listed in the available currencies in Manu Online.
This is completed by checking from your Shopify Store settings that the “Store Currency” of your store is listed Manu Online Admin -> System Settings -> Currencies and Rates.
Error handling
If an order/dispatch has an error, it will show up on the tags in the order as an error number. Please contact Manu Online support with your order number and this error number and we can assist you.
